The Great Train Robbery - Process

My final project for my Photoshop class at DigiPen was simply to make whatever, so long as we spent 20+ hours working on it.

Initial idea I had was for some kind of thunder monster battling airships. Wasn't as cool as I thought it was going to be.

After jingling a few ideas around in my head, I decided to go with some kind of Mad Max take on the classic train robberies of the wild west.

Everything's better with an explosion.
Got a suggestion to make it inside a tunnel. At first I wasn't sure how it'd look but once I hit my value comps the idea seemed a lot more enticing.

Wanted to keep one outside for good measure
So enticing that most of my color comps were the tunnel scene. But with a few more suggestions I made some improvements to the outdoor one, suddenly making it look a whole lot cooler.

I ended up picking the outdoor comp to take to a finish, despite how much I liked the tunnel at first.

Work in progress
